Sometimes everything aligns perfectly: TAM, SOM, SAM, market need, competitive gaps, technology readiness, and exit potential. In those rare cases, a powerful narrative and network can secure funding before any product or traction exists.But these instances are exceptions.

More often, early traction is essential: without it, bringing investors in too soon can shift your vision and dilute your control, sometimes drastically.

  • Be transparent with projections and open about risks. You want partners, not just money.

Pre-Seed vs. Seed vs. Series A:Pre-Seed rounds focus on early idea validation, Seed rounds require initial traction or MVP, and Series A looks for clear product-market fit and scalable growth metrics.

Equity, SAFEs, and Convertible Notes:**
